( 01 ) — THE STORY
Didn't run a step
until he was 25.
Max Jolliffe grew up surfing and skating in Newport Beach, California. Running was never the plan — it showed up in recovery, on two broken ankles, as a way to get his life back. It stuck.
Sober since his mid-twenties, he hasn't missed a day on his feet since 2021. The same obsession that nearly took him out is the one that carried him 240 miles across the Utah desert — first through the finish, with a course record — and through Death Valley in July faster than anyone in Badwater history.
"Max's greatest aspect to his racing is the fact that he doesn't quit."JESS HAYNES — 2023 KING OF MOAB
